cloaked amid ashen clouds
clandestine cousins caw caw cawwing
with every taunt, every turn

cliffs jagged, skimming
the dark ebony just beyond
where dawn spawns from
the silky feathers of night

below, upturned, unmasked faces beckon
the amber torch, a beacon
bursting through the si…
